Every device is tested before it ships
All units are quality-checked and confirmed working prior to packaging. If something seems off, the fix is almost always simple โ€” thick oil, a partial clog, or charger compatibility. Work through this guide before assuming the device is defective.
๐Ÿšจ
Device not hitting? Start here first.
This resolves the vast majority of "it doesn't work" reports.
1
Check the LED. Take a draw and look for a blue light at the bottom. If it lights up, the battery and device are working โ€” the issue is airflow or oil viscosity, not a defect.
2
Warm it up. Hold the device firmly in your closed hand for 60โ€“90 seconds. Thick distillate stiffens in cool temperatures and restricts airflow. Body heat alone often solves the problem. This resolves most "no vapor" complaints, especially in cooler weather or first thing in the morning.
3
Take 2โ€“3 firm, deliberate draws. Don't expect vapor on the first pull โ€” just pull firmly to create suction and break up any condensed oil in the airpath. You may hear a slight gurgle or feel resistance clear โ€” that's the oil moving, totally normal.
4
Blow gently through the mouthpiece. If firm pulls don't clear it, exhale a short, gentle breath into the mouthpiece (don't inhale โ€” blow in). This pushes condensed oil back down toward the coil and reopens the airpath. Wipe the tip clean before your next draw.
5
Still blocked? Use a pin or paperclip. If blowing through doesn't open it up, straighten a paperclip or use a sewing pin and gently insert it into the mouthpiece opening to break up any hardened oil blocking the airpath. Don't force it โ€” a light poke is all it takes. Wipe the tip and take a firm draw after to clear any loosened residue.
6
Still nothing? Plug it in. If the LED lights blue, the device is alive and just needs a charge. Let it charge fully and try again. If there is zero response after trying a different cable, contact us.

Charging Your Device
โœ“
Use a standard 5V/1A USB-C charger. The 300mAh battery is small and charges quickly on low output. If you purchased our charging kit add-on, the included cable and block are already rated correctly for this device. Typical charge time from low: 30โ€“45 minutes. Unplug when the LED turns off.
โœ“
Keep the device generally upright while charging. Prop it against a wall or stable surface with the mouthpiece facing up. Never charge it laying on its side.
โœ“
Charge at room temperature (50ยฐFโ€“113ยฐF). Room temp is best. Don't charge in a hot car or cold environment.
โœ“
Unplug as soon as the LED turns off. That's your full-charge signal. The device does not auto-disconnect from power.
โœ—
Do not use fast chargers. Quick Charge, USB-C Power Delivery, and high-wattage bricks (18W, 25W, 45W, 65W+) push more voltage than this small cell can handle. This is the leading cause of premature battery degradation โ€” and it is not covered under any replacement. Not sure about your charger? Check the label. Anything above 10W is too much for this device. When in doubt, use a laptop USB port.
โœ—
Do not leave it charging overnight. Once the LED turns off, unplug it. Sustained overcharging shortens the cell's lifespan.
โœ—
Do not charge with an oily or dirty port. If distillate has migrated to the USB-C port, wipe it clean and let it dry completely before plugging in.
๐Ÿ’จ
Using Your Device
โœ“
Take slow, steady draws under 10 seconds. The device cuts off and flashes 3 times at the 10-second mark โ€” this is a built-in protection feature, not a malfunction. Just take shorter pulls.
โœ“
Warm it up before use, especially in cold weather. Hold it in your closed fist for 60โ€“90 seconds. Cold distillate doesn't flow well โ€” body heat makes a significant difference in draw quality.
โœ“
Pause 5โ€“10 seconds between draws. The quartz coil needs time to cool and re-saturate. Back-to-back pulls without pausing cause dry hits and will eventually burn out the coil permanently.
โœ“
If a small amount of oil appears at the tip โ€” just wipe it off. Light seepage at the mouthpiece from body heat is normal. Wipe with a tissue and keep using. It is not a sign of a defective device.
โœ“
Store upright, mouthpiece up. Gravity keeps the oil pooled at the coil. Storing on its side or face-down moves oil toward the seal and encourages leaking.
โœ—
Do not leave it in a hot car or direct sunlight. Heat thins the oil enough to migrate through the intake holes and leak out. Parked cars regularly hit 120ยฐF+. Always bring your device inside. Ideal storage temp: 68ยฐFโ€“77ยฐF.
โœ—
Do not draw on an empty tank. If you're getting no visible vapor and a harsh taste, stop. Firing a dry coil burns the quartz element and the damage is permanent.
๐Ÿ’ง
Leaking & Storage
โ„น
Small amounts of oil at the mouthpiece are normal โ€” not a defect. Thick distillate expands slightly with body heat. A little oil collecting at the tip after carrying it in your pocket all day is expected. Wipe and continue using.
โ„น
If more significant leaking occurred: Stand the device upright and let it return to room temperature for 15โ€“30 minutes. The oil will re-pool back toward the coil. Wipe the exterior down, check the mouthpiece cap is fully seated, and use as normal.
โœ—
Hot cars are the #1 cause of leaking. At 120ยฐF+, even thick distillate becomes thin enough to pass through the 2mm intake holes and escape the tank. This is a storage issue, not a hardware defect.
โœ—
Do not store on its side or upside down. Always keep it mouthpiece-up โ€” in your bag, on a surface, in a cup holder, anywhere it rests.

Common Issues
No vapor, no light โ€” device seems completely dead.
Plug it in first. If the LED lights blue, the device is alive and just needs a charge. Try a different USB-C cable if there's no response โ€” a bad cable is a very common culprit. If there is absolutely zero response after 15 minutes on a known-good cable and appropriate charger, contact us.
The light comes on but I'm getting little or no vapor.
If the LED is on, the device is firing correctly. The issue is almost always cold or thick oil restricting airflow โ€” not a hardware problem. Warm the device in your closed hand for 60โ€“90 seconds and try again. If airflow still feels blocked, follow the clog-clearing steps at the top of this guide: take a few firm draws, or exhale gently through the mouthpiece to push the oil back down. This resolves the vast majority of "no vapor" reports.
It flashes 3 times and cuts off mid-draw.
Three flashes is a built-in safety response โ€” not a defect. It triggers when: (1) you inhale for more than 10 seconds (just take shorter pulls), (2) a short circuit is detected (wipe the device down and let it sit for a few minutes), or (3) you've just disconnected the charger (completely normal). If it happens on every single draw with no clear cause, reach out.
Device flashes 3 times when plugged in, then no charging light.
Three flashes on plug-in means the device's short-circuit protection triggered โ€” it detected a bad or interrupted connection at the port and shut down as a safety measure. This is almost always caused by oil residue in the USB-C port, a poor-quality cable, or an incompatible charger. Work through these steps in order:

Step 1 โ€” Clean the port. Unplug the device and inspect the USB-C port closely. Oil from the tank can migrate down and coat the contacts. Using a dry toothpick, gently clear any visible residue from inside the port. If you have isopropyl alcohol (90%+), lightly dampen the very tip of a cotton swab, clean the port opening, and let it dry completely for at least 5 minutes before plugging back in.

Step 2 โ€” Check your charger and cable. Make sure you're using a standard 5V/1A USB-C adapter โ€” not a fast charger, not a MacBook brick, not a newer phone charger. If you purchased our charging kit, use that. A high-wattage charger can trigger the short-circuit protection on a device this small.

Step 3 โ€” Plug back in and watch the LED. If charging correctly, the LED will glow a steady blue. If it flashes 3 times again and goes dark, repeat the port cleaning and let it sit longer before retrying.

If the device continues to flash 3 times and show no charging light after cleaning the port and confirming a standard 5V/1A charger and cable โ€” this indicates a damaged charging port or internal fault. At that point the device is not recoverable through troubleshooting and qualifies for a replacement. Contact us with a description of each step you completed.
Battery seems to die faster than expected.
The most common cause is using a fast charger. High-wattage chargers degrade small lithium cells quickly โ€” sometimes within just a few charge cycles. If you've been using a quick-charge adapter, a newer phone brick, or a MacBook charger, switch immediately to a standard 5V/1A adapter. If you purchased our charging kit add-on, use that. Also make sure you're unplugging once the LED turns off rather than leaving it plugged in for hours.
Oil appeared at the mouthpiece or the outside feels sticky.
A small amount of oil at the tip is completely normal โ€” especially after carrying it in a warm pocket. Wipe it off and keep using it. If there was heavier leaking, stand the device upright, let it cool to room temperature, and check that the mouthpiece cap is fully pressed on. Leaking is almost always a heat or storage position issue, not a seal defect.
Harsh or burnt taste on the draw.
This means the coil fired without enough oil at the wick โ€” a dry hit. It happens when you take too many draws back-to-back without pausing, or when the tank is nearly empty. Stop immediately if the taste turns harsh. Let the device sit upright for a few minutes so oil can re-saturate the coil, then try again with longer pauses between draws. Continued dry firing permanently damages the quartz element and is not covered under replacement.
